Old Fashioned Chicago Dogs
This Memorial Day we wanted to BBQ up some of the more traditional foods for this weekend. So, we did a few racks of baby backs and chicken. What can be more traditional than old fashioned dogs? The food being secondary, of course, to flying the American flag in honor of our fallen soldiers.
We grilled up some Chicago Dogs. Andy at Western Beef & Seafood has some gourmet Angus all-beef franks. Big and bold, juicy and bursting with smoky beef flavor. These Dogs were great!!!
Just throw them on the grill until they are plump and you’re set…
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Grill: Direct High Heat
Ingredients:
Gourmet Angus all-beef franks
Buns
Pickle spears
Banana Peppers
Yellow Mustard
Pickle relish (optional)
Grilled onions (optional)
Your favorite chips
Directions:
To create your masterpiece: put mustard on bun. Patti likes the brown spicy; Ken is a yellow mustard purist. Top with hotdog and cover with your favorite toppings.
Dogs are about the easiest thing there is that you can grill. Most of them are already precooked so all you are doing is heating them up. So I am not going to go into how to grill these guys. You can do them on any grill even on the stove top in a skillet and just cannot go wrong. Patti has even boiled them.
Remember that a recipe is simply an outline; it is not written in stone. Don’t be afraid to make changes to suit your taste.
Take it and run with it….
Live Your Passion,
Ken & Patti
