Steak Roll Up

Steak Roll up 11110022.JPG

Tonight we wanted to do something a little different with some left over prime rib. We were talking about doing a sandwich of some kind and came up with stuffed bread roll. As you can see I filled it with prime rib, sweet onion, mushrooms, garlic and lots of cheese… For a sauce I drizzled on Country Bob’s all purpose sauce. Talking with Patti, she tells me that she uses it to season all kinds of things she wants to add just a little extra zing to. This turned out to be a real good sandwich.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 30 minutes

Oven: 350

Ingredients:

6 oz. shredded cheese (we used Colby Jack)

2 cups sweet onion, rough chopped

2 cups mushrooms, sliced

2 cups prime rib, cut into 1 to 1 ½ inch pieces (you can use whatever leftovers you have)

2 Tbsp. crushed garlic

1 lb. fresh pizza dough

Country Bob’s Sauce

Roll out your dough…

Directions:

Roll out your pizza dough. You are going to load it up and then roll it so you want it long instead of round.

Now, you can add the filling a layer at a time, keeping back from the edge about an inch.

I could not get everything on here so I had a little left for omelets later. I stacked it up about an inch and a half. But, keep in mind you can add more or less, it is up to you and how much dough you end up with.

Before rolling it up drizzle the Country Bob’s on it. Use your taste as to how much. If you have seen many of my recipes you know that I like things on the HOT side. Don’t worry; this sauce is not hot, just good.

Cheese it up

OK, roll it up and put it on a greased cookie sheet with the seam on the bottom of the loaf. Try to tuck the ends back and under so nothing leaks out while cooking. Now place it into the preheated oven at 350 for 30 minutes. (I lined my cookie sheet with foil for easy clean up.)

Ready to go in the oven.

Remember that a recipe is simply an outline; it is not written in stone.

Don’t be afraid to make changes to your taste.

Take it and run with it….

Enjoy,

Ken & Patti
